Fraser River Port Welcomes New K line Ship

December 22, 1999 : In addition to the winter solstice, the full moon and highest tides of the year, the arrival of the new car carrier M.V. European Highway made it a memorable day at Fraser River Port. The vessel replaces another ship of the same name and is one of two new ships K Line has recently put into service.

With the help of Westminster Tugs, the 48,039 gross registered tonne vessel with a crew of 21 docked at Fraser Wharves on its maiden voyage to discharge a shipment of Hondas, Mazdas and Hino trucks destined for the Canadian market.

Representatives from Fraser River Port, Fraser Wharves, Nortec and BCR Marine held a short ceremony in the Officers Mess to mark the occasion.
