| Canada Marine Act Review |
October 18, 2002: The Fraser River Port Authority, like the other 18 Canadian Port Authorities, is governed by the Canada Marine Act. The Act contains a provision that the Act and its implementation be reviewed within five years of proclamation. The Minister of Transport, David Collenette, has empowered a Panel to advise him on this matter. The Panel is currently conducting public meetings across the country.
At its annual meeting held on October 17, 2002, President Allen Domaas advised that the Fraser River Port Authority would make its presentation to the Review Panel at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at the Pan Pacific Hotel, in Vancouver.
Interested parties can continue to make written submissions to the Canada Marine Act Review Panel until November 1, 2002. Submissions to the Panel are to be sent to:
