May 18, 2001: The Fraser River Port Authority is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors elected a new Chair and Vice Chair at their May 17, 2001 meeting. Mr. Mike Jones was elected Chair. Mr. Jones, a retired professional engineer, held the positions of Chief Engineer and Manager of the City of Surrey and was a partner with Aplin & Martin Consultants Ltd.

Mr. Mel Nunweiler was appointed Vice Chair. He is a forestry executive with more than 30 years of experience in the movement of forest products and policy development. He has worked variously with Canadian Forest Products Ltd and Weldwood Canada Ltd.

The Board of Directors has seven members, although two appointments are pending at this time. The other current Directors are Mr. Geoffrey Day, Mr. Fred Mah, and Ms. Juliana Yung.
